Road trips are always fun. You are able to ride for hours listening to whatever you want and singing as loudly as you can. What could be better than that? I know one thing...adding your best friend to the mix. These are my top five reasons why road trips with your best friend are the absolute best.
1. Having the same taste in music.
One of the reasons they are your best friend is because of your taste of music. Yeah, your taste may differ a tiny bit, but you never really have to worry about fighting about the playlist. You know that having Twenty One Pilots or a good throwback will never disappoint. Just don't switch the song on someones favorite because then it will become a problem.
2. Jamming out as loud as you can without judgement.
Having the same taste in music also has its perks. You can jam out in the car as loud as you want. Your best friend will be right onside of you hitting every note of "Bohemian Rhapsody" without caring if the other car can see you. You already know who is going to be the air guitar or drums. You always don't have to worry about how you sound because your best friend is probably just as tone deaf as you are.
3. Three hours ends up feeling like 30 minutes.
If you travel a lot, then you know that car rides seem like they last for hours and hours. This isn't the case with your best friend in tow. You will always be doing something that will make time go faster. The singing, the talking and the laughs make time fly by.
4. You get to pack light.
If you stay overnight somewhere on the road trip, then you don't have to worry about packing your whole house. You get to divide up what to bring. There is no need to bring two straighteners or two tubes of toothpaste. Just discuss who is bringing what because you don't want to forget something.
5. Having heart-to-hearts.
The absolute best part of road trips is being able to have heart-to-hearts with your best friend. When you're too tired of singing you get to ride around talking about everything and anything. You know you can trust this person and it's the perfect opportunity to open up what's on your mind. It doesn't even have to be relevant. Just being able to talk with your best friend for a long period is rewarding enough.
Whatever I do with my best friend is always a great time, but I always seem to have a little bit more fun when it is a road trip.
