5 Reasons Why I Prefer To Buy Cheap Makeup
www.communitycurator.com

I am a college student, so I never have much money. It is hard to find it worth it to buy expensive makeup when you don't have much money and when you want the makeup you buy to last longer.

1. It’s affordable.

I buy cheaper makeup because I can afford it. The cheaper the makeup, the less I have to worry about money. I like to save money as much as I can because I don’t have much money as it is. Being a college student means that most of my money goes into things needed for school, so I try to spend as little as possible on makeup.

2. It works just as well as expensive makeup.

I buy makeup that is $15 or under. Even though it does not cost as much as stuff from Sephora, it works just as well. If you know how to apply it, it will look just as good as expensive makeup. The only reason expensive makeup is expensive is because of the names that are on the package. Certain brands have certain prices.

3. You can get more for less money.

Some of the makeups I buy, give you more for your money. I get a lot of makeup for a small amount of money. I bought foundation powder for $8 at target and have been using it daily for a month and a half and still have half of the foundation left. That means $8 lasts me 3 months. That is about 67 cents a week. I used to buy a foundation powder that was $22 dollars and it only lasted me a month and a half, that is about $3.67 a week. That is over 5 times the cost of the $8 foundation powder.

4. I prefer cheaper makeup (I feel less guilty about spending money on it).

It makes me feel less bad about buying a lot of it. It is cheap and you get more for your money when buying cheaper makeup. I like to buy it in bulk because it saves me money and I tend to buy anything that is cheapest but works well. I only use expensive makeup when I get it as a gift or I am given it from friends. I only use it or get it when it’s free.

5. Expensive makeup is only expensive because of the brand name.

The brand of the makeup is what determines the price. Brands like Urban Decay or Naked cost way more than brands like Elf or L’Oréal. The more fancy the brand or store, the more the makeup will cost.

The brands I use that are affordable are Maybelline, L’Oreal, Elf, and NYX. I like L’Oreal’s BB Cream. I like Elf’s eyeshadow. I also like NYX’s eyeshadow. Maybelline has really good mascara. These brand’s prices range from about $4-$15. They are pretty affordable and work quite well. I also recommend that if you want to buy more expensive makeup that you look at the store Ulta Beauty in the clearance section, or that you look for coupons or sales on expensive brands of makeup. And if you really want that expensive makeup but can't afford it? Ask for it for your birthday or on holidays so you don’t have to pay for it yourself.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
