Everyone's reason for praying is different but they all are important. Some people do not pray even though they believe in God. I don't judge someone for not praying but I hope my reasons light a fire in you to start.
1. I realize my efforts only go so far then I have to let God take over.
I say this because I am only human, I can try to figure out a solution to my problem for countless hours and get no where. We have limitations, it's inevitable. Worrying is like riding a stationary bike, lots of work and gets you no where. That's why I turn my problems over to God.
2. Just like I ask my dad for help when I need him, why not ask my heavenly father also?
I have never hesitated to ask my dad for advice or help. God sees me as his daughter and wants to help his child like any parent does.
3. I've seen miracles performed first hand.
I know God can do truly anything so I have no doubt that he can do what I ask for. They tested my daughter for deafness and thought she couldn't hear out of neither ear. I begged and pleaded for Him to heal her.We went back and they didn't know why but her left ear was perfect! That is a miracle in my eyes and I give God all the praise. Sometimes even when he can answer my prayer he doesn't because he sees the final picture and knows what's best in the long run.
4. By praying and God letting me know he hears me, it strengthens my relationship with him.
Just like with a friend, if they do a favor for you. help you, or even just listen to you it makes love them more.
5. Praying is not always asking sometimes it's just telling God you're heart. When I pray I talk to God as my friend.
In my deepest valleys God listened when no one else did. There's been times all I could do was cry and God understood my tears. I don't know about you, but I have never met anyone who knew what your tears were saying. That's how great my God is.
