New York City. "The Center of the Universe." There is no doubt that New York definitely has a reputation for being the greatest city in the country, arguably the world. It is a center for art, finance, and entertainment of all kinds. Now, while I have some definite love for New York, Philadelphia holds a special place in my heart because it's my hometown. I was born and raised in the city of brotherly love, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Here are five reasons that Philly is infinitely better than New York.

1. The art and music scene

Philly's art scene is like no other. It's a true culture, and it's very inclusive. From the Kimmel Center to the Art Museum to the throngs of underground artists offering up some of the newest and most original content, Philly has an up-and-coming art and music scene like no other. But I mean, what can you expect from a city that gave you both Jill Scott and Boys II Men.

2. The food

Philly's food will always have my heart and there is no changing my mind, because yes, Philly cheesesteaks are that good. My personal favorites are from Dalessandro's in the Northwest section of the city (pictured above). In the summer, you can chill out with a "wooder" ice and a soft pretzel. New York's attempt of cheesesteaks really just don't cut it.

3. The history

I mean, cmon, America was founded here. The literal Declaration of Independence was signed here. You really cannot argue with that. Sorry, New York.

4. The sports fans

Philly's sports fans are sort of famous for being rowdy and disruptive, but it's all in the name of a good game. They really care deeply about their teams and are true diehard fans. And yes, we will be talking about the Superbowl win for the next five years. You don't get that kind of loyalty everywhere.

5. The pricing

As I said before, New York has Broadway. But with Broadway comes Broadway prices. In Philly, you can see a great show for an even greater price at any one of the city's theaters. Plus, it's a lot cheaper to live in Philly than in New York. And why wouldn't you want to?

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
