For years and years and years, there has been the question: Are you a cat person or dog person? Now, it seems to me that the majority of people these days are dog people, and I don't have anything against this. However, I think this hate against cats is all fake.

I always hear people say, "Cats are the worst" or "Cats are animals from hell." I would just like to know, what kind of devil cats are you all getting? Every animal EVER will have its good moments and bad moments. Sometimes they will break things or bite and scratch you or tear apart your furniture, but I truly believe that cats are the best animals to have as a pet. I don't have anything against dogs, but there is just something about cats that make them a tiny bit better; let me tell you why.

1. Cats only pretend to hate you

My cat, Tessa, truly seems to hate all human beings alive. Granted, she is used to my family and loves us. The second anyone new comes to the house it is all hissing and stalking them until they leave. Tessa doesn't like to be held, she only tolerates it. However, whenever she is trying to find a place to sleep, she conveniently lays down right next to you. If you try to pet her, she'll move away a little bit, but if you leave the room, she follows. Cats may not always want to be touched, but they do like being around people.

2. The love bites

Something that I love about my kitty is that she gives everyone little "love bites," at least that's what my family calls them. While you're petting her, she will grab your hand with her paw and bite your hand. This doesn't sound like a positive, but they aren't hard bites. It's really more of a nibble, and it's the most adorable thing in the world.

3. Kitty snoring

Who doesn't love the soft, squeaky noise of a kitten snoring? Half of the time, the only way to know where Tessa is when she is sleeping is by listening to her snore. Hearing her snore makes me smile, as I'm sure it does to most other cat owners.

4. Gentle paw taps

When Tessa sleeps on my lap or lays on my chest, there will be times every so often when she reaches up her paws and touches my face. She will sometimes just rest them there and look at me or she'll start playing with my hair. Something else she does is just reaching out a paw when she is sleeping nearby until she is touching me and then falls back to sleep. Don't even deny that that is cute.

5. Bouncing

Something Tessa does when she gets really excited or energetic is lift up her front paws and bounce around. She'll often do this to let whoever is with her that she wants to play. Her favorite toys? Twisty ties and milk jug rings, something I've found to be a common love between cats.

Get a cat. That's the best advice I can give you. This is advice coming from a person that is allergic to cats, by the way. If I love being by my cat even though she makes it impossible to breathe, gives me red, itchy eyes, and red patches on my neck, then I guarantee you will love a cat without all of that wonderfulness.

Plus, cats are easier to take care of, are less high maintenance, and won't bother you if you don't want to be bothered. Also, trust me when I tell you that you cat does love you, no matter how much they avoid you.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
