Of course growing up you have your group of best friends, the girls who do anything with you, and who you spend every weekend with.

But, in my opinion, a girl needs more than just her girl friends, she needs her mother.

Having my mom as one of my best friends is one of the greatest things that's ever happened in my life. I cherish the relationship we have immensely, and I hope every girl sees just how much fun it can be to have your mom be not just your mom, but your best friend too.

1. She can temporarily judge you, but not permanently

No matter how bad you screw up, or how wrong of a decision you’ve made, your mom will forgive you. Yes, she might have to inflict some motherly advice upon you, and show you her disapproval, but if she’s your best friend she will just be happy and grateful that you come to her with things, and after sharing difficult wrongs with her you will feel nothing but her unconditional love.

2. She really is always right

Moms always claim that they’re always right whether it has to deal with boys, your friends, your grades, etc. it’s her way or the highway. And even though I probably haven’t admitted this to my own mom, from my prior experiences her predictions and feelings toward things usually tend to end up true. Give her some credit every now and then, she likes to receive credit when necessary, and she only has your best interest at heart.

3. A person to share clothes with

Every girl loves sharing clothes and mixing up outfits, and as I grew up without any siblings, I always heard of my friends stealing their older sister’s clothes or them having their clothes stolen from their younger siblings. Not me. I steal my mom’s clothes. So, for all you only children out there, I highly recommend raiding through your moms closet every once in a while, you never know what sort of trend you might find!!

4. A forever friend

Your mom is one of the only people that are with you from beginning to end in your life. She sees it all, and she knows every side of you, even the ones you try to hide from yourself and others. From your first day of life to her last, she will be by your side, and this is one relationship that you will truly always have for forever. Who wouldn't want a best friend for life???

5. There are so many things to look forward to together

In the world of a young girl, there are so many life-changing experiences like going off to college, marriage, getting your first job, and having kids and I couldn’t imagine going through without my mom by my side. If your mom is your best friend, then that only makes these special moments in your life so much sweeter. I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t wait to plan my future wedding with my mom, as well as sharing all of my future success with her!

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
