If you see a tiny little dog that looks like a mini version of a Doberman Pinscher, there’s a strong chance you may actually be looking at a Miniature Pinscher, aka Min Pin! What’s interesting is that these dogs don’t have anything to do with Dobermans and are actually a mix between the Italian Greyhound and the Dachshund. Miniature Pinschers are a toy breed. These cute little dogs have varying colors and markings for each individual. Some are red, some are black and brown, and some are a mix. They are also a ton of fun and awesome. Here are five reasons why.

1. They're Absolutely Adorable

Look at that face! Min Pins are one of the prettiest breeds of dogs I’ve ever seen. They often have cool markings and have beautiful eyes. It also doesn’t hurt that they are tiny, typically only weighing 8-10 pounds. They also have cute little paws, which adds to the adorable factor. No wonder they have the nickname “King of the Toys!”

2. They’re Easy to Take Care Of

Min Pins are really small, so they’re easy to pick up and move around if needed. Because of their size, their poops are also tiny and easy to clean up. Additionally, Min Pins are short haired, which means there’s no need to constantly brush their fur or clean up their hair when they shed. Just occasional shampooing is all that’s really needed to keep their fur clean. Sporadically feeding them eggs keeps their coat shiny as well. These dogs are also generally very healthy, which is yet another great thing about them.

3. They’re Cuddly and Energetic

Min Pins are very loving and love to cuddle with their owners when they aren’t running around the house or backyard. Since they’re so small, they’re easy to fit on your lap or in your bed. One of my Min Pin’s favorite spots is on someone’s lap, being covered by a warm blanket. Min Pins have a very independent spirit and are very clever escape artists. Since they have so much energy, fences are definitely a must. Min Pins are also very protective of their owners and of themselves. Whether it be the neighbors, a ring of the doorbell, or a random inanimate object, you can be sure Min Pins will be barking up a storm. No, there are rarely dull moments with a Min Pin.

4. They’re Tough, Considering Their Size

Min Pins are very compact and muscular for being a toy breed. This means they’re even more fun to play with because you don’t have to worry as much about hurting them. They aren’t delicate and easily hurt.

5. They’re Good With Kids

As long as the owner properly socializes them, Min Pins are great with kids. Since children like to play around, and Min Pins are energetic and love to run all over the place, they are a good mix.

Miniature Pinschers are wonderful dogs. Their cuteness, loyalty, and loving temperament will make anyone fall in love with them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
