They are only reasons to hate if you make them that way.

5 Reasons You Love And Hate Your Significant Other

In a relationship, you can find a million things that you love about one another and one thing you absolutely can't stand. For some, it's easy to find things you love but then hate later on. Having a love/hate relationship with your significant other is normal.

1. They're Clingy.

It's easy to say that this is the most annoying quality about people. It's that feeling where they just will not leave you alone, especially when you need it the most.

Yet this quality is still lovable when you think about what it means. If they are clingy, it means they care and just want to be a part of everything you do.

2. They're Protective.

Sometimes it seems like they are harsh when discussing people you don't approve of or things you are doing.

They are just protecting you like a father would. They are just looking out for you and your best interest.

3. They Constantly Have Something To Say About Your Driving.

I'll admit it, this one is totally me. I know in the back of my head that I'm being such a mom and extremely annoying.

Honestly, I'm just worried about our safety and that's all that matters.

4. They Don't Talk To You.

For instance, it's after a fight or disagreement that they didn't approve of and now your significant other won't talk to you. This seems horrible, because you are supposed to be a team, not playing on opposing ones. Openness is key.

I am a culprit of this one. The reason I do it is because when I'm upset, I'm more likely to say something I don't mean. So instead of saying everything that is on my mind at that exact time, I like to take a step back and filter through what should be said and what shouldn't.

5. You're Family Loves Them More Than You.

Sure, this can be SUPER annoying. Like, "hey, I was here first".

Just know, it may seem like they love them more, but you are not replaceable. They are showing your significant other that they care about them too and that they are always welcome.

It's rough to think about how the bad side of these can destroy relationships, but you should always look at everything that bothers you from a different standpoint before making assumptions. All of these love/hate reasons are typically loving in some way.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
