For some people, country music is the lastthing they'd ever want to listen to. But for me, country music is always my go-to on long road trips, quick stops around town, parties or just hanging out at home. So, here are 5 reasons why I love country music.
The lyrics are sincere.
Although I listen to pop music, if I have to hear one more song with awful, misogynistic lyrics that has a nice beat one more time I might go insane. Most of the time, I can barely even understand what the artists are saying over all the autotune. But, if you've ever really listened to the lyrics of a country song, they all have meaning behind them and send a valuable message to their listeners. What about "Someday I hope you get the chance to live like you were dying" and "Always stay humble and kind" is not to love?
Every song is unique.
Instead of the mess of pop songs on the radio that all seem to jumble together after a while, each country song has a unique idea and meaning behind it. Instead of just repeating words over and over, the songs tell stories about heartbreak, love, losing a family member, being a better person, and not taking anyone for granted.
There are songs for every mood you're in.
Whether I'm sad, happy, angry, let down, you name it––there's a country song for that. From "The House That Built Me" when I'm feeling nostalgic to "Chicken Fried" when I want to have a good time, country music is always the perfect choice.
It reminds me of summer.
There's nothing like driving with the windows down on a summer night with country music blasting on the radio. But, because I listen to country music all year long, even when it's cold or rainy or snowing, these songs bring me back to those summer nights, and remind me that soon, the sun will be out and it will be 80º once again.
Country singers are the best in concert.
You can't argue with me on this one––if you've ever been to a country concert, the environment and the vibe are better than any other genre of music. Everyone's drinking beer in their cowboy boots and cutoff jeans, and just enjoying the show. A country concert is a perfect way to spend a summer night.
