No matter where it is, trends seem to take off on college campuses. In this last year, one of the most popular products introduced to campuses across the country was ENO Hammocks. We’ve all seen the artsy Instagram posts and cliché “Just Hanging Out” captions that fill up our feeds and timelines. While I’m not always the biggest fan of these types of fads, ENO Hammocks have caught my attention and I can honestly say I’m hooked. So what’s so great about a piece of cloth suspended between two trees? I’ll give you five reasons why you should invest in an ENO Hammock.

1. Quality Product

Eagle Nest Outfitters (ENO) has created a product that meets the standards for quality. Their hammocks are made of a thin nylon fabric which, upon the first inspection of this lightweight material, does not logically make sense that it would hold the weight of a person. However, the ENO DoubleNest hammock is actually rated as having a 400lb capacity and is put together using heavy duty, triple stitched seams. Also, ENO offers its customers a two year, one-time replacement or repair warranty if any of their items are faulty for manufacturing defaults. This warranty shows that ENO takes pride in and trusts their hammocks. This, in turn, gives the customer the ability to trust their gear and this trust is what makes it a quality product.

2. Easy to Use

ENO Hammocks could not be easier to set up and take down. There are no fancy knots required, you just secure the straps around two trees, hook the carabiner onto the straps and voila! You’re ready to hammock. When you’re done, simply stuff the hammock and straps back into their compact stuff sacks and be on your way.

3. Portable

According to their website, an ENO DoubleNest hammock weighs only 18 oz. and the straps 13 oz. This is ridiculously lightweight. The hammock also comes equipped with a compact stuff sack, making it easy to carry either in a backpack or by hand. In other words, you can take this hammock anywhere – to school, sightseeing, hiking, backpacking, etc – with no regrets because whether you get to use it or not it was not a pain to transport.

4. Versatile

One of my favorite parts about hammocking is that you can bust it out and use it at almost any time. Hammocks are great for relaxing and taking naps, but I’ve also found that my ENO hammock is a great place for doing homework or catching up some reading. That’s the personal and more private way to utilize your hammock, but it can also be a social activity as well; Get a couple friends with hammocks and stack them on top of each other or find a circle of trees and set them up so you’re all facing one another. Add in some snacks and some music and you and your friends will be entertained for hours.

5. Encourages Outdoor Living

In a world of technology, it’s easy to find yourself trapped indoors all day. Hammocking allows you to simply enjoy being in the outdoors. You could be a hardcore backpacker and outdoorsman who enjoys the thrill of intense views or simply a person looking to enjoy your backyard a little more comfortably, hammocking is for everyone. There is no age limit on hammocks. I guarantee that you will find yourself searching for more hammocking spots and better views the more you use and fall in love with your ENO hammock.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone does not try to help their self before asking others. How can someone else be expected to help you if you do not first do that yourself? I'm all about helping those that need it when the time comes, however whenever someone does not even attempt to help him or herself first then that becomes a huge problem. As we all have learned, people tend to take advantage of us in one way or another. I am sure we all read this short story when we were younger and it follows that same principle:
