Starbucks Newsroom

Starbucks. It's an obsession. It's a way of life. You may be able to go your entire life without meeting a female that has never had Starbucks. It's common knowledge that where there is a college, there is at least one Starbucks. I am sure there are coffee shops that were established in your town before Starbucks...Go drink their coffee, trust me, they won't turn your business down. Leave Starbucks alone!

1. Their Star Program

I am a collector at heart. If you give me a blue crayon and tell me that you will give me a prize if I am the person with the most blue crayons, you can bet I will find those blue crayons. Sometimes I will collect something that doesn't guarantee a prize, like the smashed pennies. Starbucks stars are no different. However, the stars ONLY count, if you pay through the app. I have 53 stars.. which is not a lot compared to the fact that I need 300 to get in their Gold program. Gold program means you get monthly double-star days, a personalized Gold card, and you get a reward every time you get 125 stars. So, you mean I get double the stars AND a personalized gold card?? Heck yeah!

2. Mobile Pay

In order to mobile pay, you have to have a Starbucks gift card. Well, I am the type of person that doesn't even like to leave one cent on the card because it could be used. So, I have to keep refilling it to get all the money off. I have $16.65 so I have to finish every cent of that off.

Also, mobile pay definitely saves time for standing in line AND not having to repeat what you said to the drive-thru speaker.

3. Their Drink Flavors

Seriously. Starbucks has the best flavors for drinks. Caramel Frappucino and S'Mores Frappuccino, oh my!

Look at those drinks! However, I hate whipped cream so the extra syrup goes right into my yummy, delicious coffee.

4. The Money I Spend There

Do I need their $3 coffees? Negative. Do I want their $3 coffees? Heck yes! I am broke; I don't need to be spending the little money that I have, on coffee. But, it tastes soooo good.

5. The Line

Okay. I know I said, above, that with mobile pay you don't have to wait in line. Well, I lied. In the drive thru, you still have to wait in line to get to the window. Inside, you don't have to wait in line; however, I feel like I am breaking if I just go to the counter. So, I just go through the drive thru... where I have a line. I don't know about where you live, but in my town, Starbucks is popular. There is hardly a time where there is no one waiting in line. We have 5 Starbucks locations in my town, but even then they are all continuously busy. We have one particular one that is on-campus that when you go, you are guaranteed to be waiting outside the building...for coffee. Remember when I said for you to go visit the other coffee shops in your town? If you do that, then it will be less of a line for me :p

There are my 5 reasons why I hate Starbucks... As you can see, I really do like Starbucks. But, I bet you read the title and just knew you had to see my reasons. You were probably thinking "How can someone hate Starbucks??!?!?!" I fooled you didn't I? I aim to please. Now, send me money to buy more Starbucks so I can get more stars. Just kidding...

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
