While sitting here watching Netflix, I can't help but to think about the reasons why I hate it! We live in a world where Netflix and chill is a very well-known phenomenon. I remember when I first signed up for Netflix. I thought it was the greatest thing created. Needless to say, I was addicted to staying in and binge-watching shows. But, after a while, my love for Netflix slowly but surely faded and here are the four reasons why I hate Netflix.
1. The shows are not up to date.
As I said before, I was addicted to binge-watching shows. It was a new found hobby of mine. That is until I was on the last episode and realized I had only finished three of the five seasons. This was the first thing that began my hatred for Netflix.
2. The New Releases are outdated.
When I see New Release I think recent, but with Netflix that is not the case. Their “New Releases” are movies that were actually released years ago. Can we sue them for false advertisement?
3. They don't have all of the early 2000s hit shows.
I’ve been waiting since I signed up for Netflix for them to add "That's So Raven", one of my all-time favorite shows. I once saw a post about "That's So Raven" coming to Netflix, but the day has yet to come. If they wanted to earn more members, they would add more of hit shows from the early 2000s to their list of shows to binge watch.
4. There are more independent films than anything else.
Majority of Netflix’s movie selection is independent films instead of major film studio system movies. I personally hate independent films. I see exactly why they didn't make it to the big screen!
5. They took Blockbusters out of business.
I remember when I was a child, my mother would take me to Blockbusters every Friday to pick out a movie and snacks. I looked forward to Fridays every week because for this one reason. Although Netflix is more convenient than Blockbusters, Blockbusters was a whole different and unique experience. Blockbusters also had a larger selection of up to date movies than Netflix does. It was three in one: a movie rental, a videogame rental, and candy store.
Maybe you like Netflix, or maybe you hate it like I do, but whatever your views are on Netflix, I hope this article resonated with you.
