5 Reasons It's Good To Be Home.

'Home is where our story begins.' The family we have, the friends we make, and the sandwiches we love.

5 Reasons It's Good To Be Home.

Campus is fun, the independence, freedom to make our own choices without parent influence. But, sometimes, home is the where you want to be. After all, it's where your story begins. And like Dorothy says, "There's no place like home." The best part though? You're just going home from your home at school. And to have two homes with people that are there for you, well, that's simply knowing you're blessed. Coming home to where my roots are, I realized there are things and people I missed much more than I thought. Sometimes, it's just the simple things, too.

1. Family.

Miss the banter with your siblings? The laughter that comes from just hanging with you're family? Or the encouragement to work hard in school so you can "reap the benefits after." #MyMom. I think I hear that more than I hear about food in my house ... and that says a lot.

2. Friends.

The ones that will never leave you to go on an adventure by yourself. One of the best things in life is making friends, having more people in you're life willing to pick you up when you fall. After all, strangers are friends you've yet to meet. Granted, some friends come and go, but if they were there for you, maybe just for a day, then that is a tremendous thing.

3. That deli around you're house that you're obsessed with.

The place you could eat lunch and dinner at ... nearly everyday. You already know what I'm talking about. And, you probably have a place in mind already. It's that place you think about when on the line at your school's cafeteria. And if you're from New York, it may be (#DefinitelyIs #Duh) the pizzeria. But, if you're going to do it right, then it'll be both!

4. Your town.

Seeing how much the area around your house has changed nearly makes you feel as though you've been gone way too long. And it makes arriving home that much more satisfying.

5. No more school commitments.

Miss rushing to class? Yeah, I don't either. Or running to make it in time for office hours? Same, don't miss it either. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I still wake up in the morning thinking I have to get ready for class. Or wake up around 9:15 a.m. and have a momentary freak out that I'm late to my 9:00 a.m. class.

Enjoy time spent home before heading off to school again. Make sure to go on plenty of adventures, the outdoors are a lot of fun. Pinky Promise.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
