5 Reasons Going Home Is The Best

5 Reasons Going Home Is The Best

1. Food: We all know that your college dining budget isn’t working out as planned. Whether you’re in the dining halls or on your own, decent food has been scarce. It’s hard to find time to cook a decent meal for yourself.

So going home is the best in this department for several reasons. A), you can expect several good meals during your stay. And when you want to snack? There’s food in the fridge! B), All of your favorite restaurants that you’ve missed so much - your parents miss eating at them with you. Time to nom. And C), of course, for Costco. Yes, you’ll be going home with frozen Tupperware's of mom’s signature chili, or her homemade banana bread. Guaranteed to keep you sane through exams.

2. Bed: There’s nothing like the comfort of your own bed - literally. That Temper-Pedic topper on your dorm mattress doesn’t wholly disguise the fact that its a dorm mattress. Even if you’re sleeping somewhere else, your bed at home will always be the best. And did I mention that it’s at home? Not at school, work, or anywhere else. Time to catch up on all of that sleep you’ve been missing.

3. Pets: This may not apply to everyone - but I miss my animals like crazy. Cats, dogs, fish, sloths if you’re lucky... they’re home. Waiting for you with tails wagging. And they can’t wait to snuggle up in bed with you upon your return, after a hearty game of fetch or whatever it is you entertain them with.

4. Friends: There are a few great things about seeing your old high school friends when you go home. A) re-connecting with your besties is awesome. It’s like you never parted. I mean, with social media and all, you probably know everything, anyways. But catching up in person is even better. B) running into those randos that you never knew very well might sound awkward, but it’s actually kind of nice. They’re either on top of their game, reminding you to step up yours, or totally behind in life, making you feel like an important human being. Either way, running into these folks will boost you in some form or fashion.

5. Shopping: That’s right - mom missed you, but she missed controlling your wardrobe even more. Even if it’s only a few things, she wants you to remain the HBOC and have the flyest wardrobe of all. Time to pick up that jacket you’ve had your eye on!

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.

A Deep Dive Into Taylor Swift’s Albums: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Edition
Edited by Hailey Hastings

I am fully emersed into diving deep into every single Taylor Swift album, which I do on my own all the time, but wanted to do it in a way where I am sharing what a special discography she has. I feel like 1989 is the perfect place to start, it's an era that changed everything, and will always be an album people automatically think of when you say "Taylor Swift."
