5 Reasons Why Everyone Should Travel:

1. You learn a lot.

You learn how to travel, how to be independent, how to be smart about money and transportation.

In addition, you learn about other cultures- their languages, their customs, holidays, cities, towns, and villages. This alone is reason enough because it gives you a completely different perspective about the world. Once you leave the safety of your hometown bubble- especially leaving your country- you are thrown into the world in a completely different way.

“A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes

2. It's really fun!

I understand that not everyone finds leaving their comfort zone fun. But do you ever regret learning something fascinating? Or doing something awesome? Probably not. Traveling is one of the best ways to make lasting memories, and that’s something we should all strive for while we can. When you’re sick or old or too tired to travel one day, you will be glad that you ventured out when you did and made all of these beautiful memories that you can relive forever and share with others.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

– Mark Twain

3. There's really nothing to lose.

Be smart when you travel and you will be fine! Do some research about the area where you plan on staying, ask locals for the best places to eat/drink, look up reviews, etc. Be wary of tourist traps and try to visit places that you wouldn’t typically explore. If traveling is something you really want to do, you will have to really prioritize it in your budget so you can save money for it. Traveling doesn’t have to be expensive, but more often than not, you will need more money than you think.

“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.”

-Anonymous

4. It's good for you.

Maybe this isn’t scientifically proven, but I think everyone would agree that vacations are good for your health. My point here is that traveling, in general, is beneficial for your mind, body, and soul. Is it cliché if it’s true?? I would even say that the farther away you get from your “bubble” of influence, the greater the potential is for you to have an incredible experience!

“Stuff your eyes with wonder, live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.” – Ray Bradbury

5. It becomes a part of you.

After visiting a new place and making memories - especially after spending a significant amount of time in a culture different than yours - can really become a part of who you are. This life experience may change the way you view the world and view the people around you (in a good way!) and it may even affect your lifestyle habits. Once you see how other people live, you may value other opinions more and adapt some of their practices into your own life and culture!

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
