5 Reasons Why Everyone Should Have A Dog In College
Her Campus

If you are anything like me (or any sane human being), dogs are the world's greatest creation. They're adorable, cuddly, fun to play with and, not to mention, they love you so much. Personally, I think that having a dog in college would benefit a lot of students. College is such a stressful time, and don't we all deserve a little relief from all that stress? What better way to do that than with a furry friend who will endlessly love you every day.

1. You always have a best friend waiting for you.

How great would it be to come back from class every day knowing that you were coming back to a furry friend? Your first thought wouldn't be to panic about all of the work and stress in your life. Instead, it would be to play with your dog who loves you endlessly! All they're doing all day is waiting for their best friend to come home. Once they see you, let the love begin!

2. They're a great distraction when you need one.

When you feel like you have enough work to last a lifetime, and you seriously just need a break, a dog is the perfect solution. I mean most times you know that if you try to start your work, you'll just end up having a total mental breakdown. Instead, you can play with them, snuggle or just hang out. That will totally get your mind off of any stress you had. Not to mention you can go back to your work after completely clear headed.

3. They provide constant love and comfort.

100 percent of the day I would love to be snuggled by a dog. I mean who wouldn't? To a dog, you are their whole world, so when you get back from class they will be beyond pumped just to completely cover you in kisses. They don't mind giving their best friend endless love and attention, and we certainly don't mind receiving it.

4) They make you feel at home.

For someone who frequently feels homesick, a dog is the perfect solution. Once you get a dog, they immediately become a part of your family. For someone who misses that comfort from feeling at home, a dog could create a little home right in your dorm room. They're a constant companion who makes you feel like you are right where you belong.

5. They are great company when you want to be alone.

Sometimes you need a break from all people, but you really don't want to be alone. What better way to solve this problem than with a dog! They'll give you endless love and attention that you need to feel better, but they won't cause you any distress that a person would.
