4 Reasons Every Day Should Be Mother's Day

Mother's day is an entire 24 hours dedicated to loving, honoring and spending time with our mothers. While this holiday brings families together and is a great way to recognize mother's everywhere, here are five reasons our moms should be celebrated every day of the year.

1. They love us unconditionally and relentlessly.

No matter how badly we mess up, how dirty our rooms stay, or how disrespectful we are, our moms never stop loving us. They never stop wanting what is best for us, and never stop worrying about us. They don't just care about us on our birthdays, so why should we only care about them on Mother's day? Every day of the year, they deserve quality time and acts of kindness.

2. They work way too hard.

Being a mother is a full time job. When we are little, they spend all hours of the day taking us back and forth from school, dropping us off at soccer practices, packing countless lunches, helping us with homework, doing all of our laundry, cleaning up our messes, shopping for all our clothes, worrying about us, meeting with our teachers, arranging play dates and so much more. And that's just the beginning. They work hard to ensure we have dinner on the table every night. They sacrifice to make sure we live comfortably. They are our constant cheerleaders. Their hard work should never go unrecognized. Mothers wear many, many hats, and deserve our honor and love as often as we can give it to them.

3. They are strong beyond measure.

Mothers hold us all together. When we can't be strong for ourselves, they are strong for us. They cry with us, laugh with us, stress out with us, mourn with us, pray with us, celebrate with us and are by our side through every disappointment and heartbreak. When we fall, they are strong enough to pick us back up. When we start heading down the wrong path, they always bring us back home. The bear the weight of our struggles and hardships. And on top of that, they still manage to put a smile on their faces. They super heroes among us, and should always be treated as such.

4. They are the best teachers.

I don't know about you, but my mother has taught me everything I know. From how to set a table to how to be forgiving, my mom gets all the credit. Yes, they teach us lessons, and give incredible advice, but above all, they teach by example. In their day-to-day lives, they walk the walk and talk the talk. They know better than us, are wiser than us and will always be right. I owe everything I am to my mother, and I am grateful to her for that every day of the year.

My mom is my teacher, my hero, my support system and my best friend. Mother's Day is great, but personally, I know my mom deserves to be treated like a queen every day. Every day should be mother's day, because they deserve it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
