5 Reasons To Envy Cats

Feline Jealousy is certainly something I have.

5 Reasons To Envy Cats

My family has owned cats for pretty much my entire existence. As I sit here and admire our beloved babies, I also think, “I wish I could be as lucky as them.” There are plenty of reasons why they are easy to envy, here’s a few:

1. They Can Sleep For Around 20 Of The 24 Hours A Day

Whenever I wake up, a sense of exhaustion overwhelms me. It would be awesome to just be able to curl up anywhere and go right back to sleep without a care in the world.

2. They Can Give Themselves A Bath

The hardest part about taking a shower, even though I love them, is the motivation to get upstairs. If I was a cat, I wouldn’t even have to move to take a bath. The only downside is the fact that cats get a lot of hairballs.

3. They Have Great Ups

I’ve never been so impressed than when I saw my cat literally scale our entire screened door. We always play with the laser toys and they both go crazy. It is awesome to see how far they can jump. They could both play in the NBA.

4. They Have A Built-In Blanket

How cool is it that their fur is a built-in blanket? I would love that, especially in the Winter.

5. They Show An Amazing Amount Of Affection

Not only do they show this, but it is in the cutest, most simple ways. Any time either of our cats come up and rub their faces on our feet or plop down on our lap, it gives me the feels. I wish people could show half the amount of affection that cats do.

Overall, even though I would consider myself a dog person, I would love to be a cat and am certainly jealous of them.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
