So I will begin by saying that I am biased when it comes to Ed Sheeran. There, I've admitted it, but I will also defend my fan status with valid and factual evidence as to why he is one of the best artists of this time, and why the music scene needs him back. For those of you who have noticed, our favorite flame haired crooner has had an extended leave of absence from his public displays of performance.

Back in December of 2015, Sheeran wrote a note to fans making them aware of his intentions to remove himself from the spotlight until autumn of this year. Sure he has made some appearances since then, in particular at the Grammys this past February, but other than that he has remained pretty much M.I.A. It has been over two years since his second album was released, and with a year plagued by "work" anthems, it is imperative that this hit machine returns to the music world.

1. He's won 2 Grammys.

It may have taken him five years, but Sheeran finally procured music's most substantial prize this February for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. The song "Thinking Out Loud," was undoubtedly one of the most popular songs of 2015, and remains in the charts still. Oh, and he was presented one of his awards by a rather enthusiastic Stevie Wonder, you know, casual.

2. Awesome Collaborations

Since becoming mainstream, he has had the opportunity to collaborate with music royalty such as Beyoncé, Elton John, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Sia, and more. Whether its at an awards show, festival, or his own concerts

3. Great songwriting.

There is no argument that timeless artists were poets with their lyrics, and if there was a survey taken, Sheeran would be on the short list for artists that will remain relevant. If he wrote "The A Team" in his early 20's then imagine what the singer songwriter will be capable of after all of the experience he has gained.

4. He makes the music of his peers better.

Besides writing and performing his own music, Ed also lends his talents to his fellow artists like One Direction, Christina Perri, and Tori Kelly. One of the most recent instances of Sheeran's writing being showcased was in Justin Bieber's smash hit "Love Yourself." Personally I was never a fan of Justin's music, but when I heard this song it would get stuck in my head, when I found out the reason behind it, I was not the least bit surprised. This fact only further perpetuates the idea that Ed is the secret ingredient for a successful music recipe.

5. He is all about the music.

This is one of the most important aspects of Ed in this industry because he doesn't fit the typical mold of a music star. Sheeran is selling because of his music, he doesn't dress flashy, and isn't revered for his image - he is a young master at an old craft, and ultimately that is what will preserve him in the music world for generations, hopefully with a third album on the horizon.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
