Some go for the football stars, others, the hipsters. Some prefer the boys who study, and some like the burn outs. I'm here to set the record straight: the dorks are the ones to date.

1. They know how romance

Okay, okay, maybe it doesn't seem like they would. Dorks have a reputation for being tongue tied around people they find attractive and for being awkward in general. While this may be true for a majority of them in a large group situation, in general it is a vicious stereotype. The dorks have the classic moment with Han Solo and Leia ("I love you," "I know."), and the dorks have elvish. Have you ever listened to someone profess their love in a language most people forget exist? Yeah, it's worth it.

2. They are excitable

There is a wonderful moment whenever you interact with another person where they trust you enough to talk about something they are passionate about. That moment their eyes light up and they become a little breathless as they tell you all about that thing that makes them the happiest. Dorks get that feeling basically all the time. It's the cutest and so thrilling to watch them light up.

3. When they like things, they *really* like them

There is no reason to worry about you liking them more than they like you, because if they spend time with you it means they really, really, really like you. Dorks won't waste time with people they aren't invested in, or are at least quite interested in.

4. They're genuine

Dorks are typically unashamed of everything they enjoy. This means everything: hobbies, books and movies, music and food, their significant others. They don't see a point in lying about liking or disliking anything, or really a point in lying in anything. If you guys are exclusive, they won't hide you from their mom. If the dork says anything to you, you can be sure they mean every word.

5. The inside jokes are insane

You will spend a lot of time together, most likely watching movies or discussing books. Suddenly, the things that you share will expand past dates and moments between just the two of you into moments that your favorite characters shared as well.

Really, get out there and find yourself a dorky guy. They'll be there in the library, totally engrossed in a book. Or in the caf with headphones on, totally oblivious to everything else going on. Or, honestly, poke your head in a comic book store. It's all worth it.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
