5 reasons why coffee shops are the greatest:

1. Coffee

Well obviously unlimited coffee just a few steps away is pretty convenient. Especially for coffee addicts like me! There’s nothing like sitting on an overly comfy couch with your fav drink while catching up with an old friend about all the latest gossip. Also, coffee shops are filled with unique and amazing people, so don’t be surprised when you meet a new friend or two.

2. Atmosphere

Coffee shops always have the aroma of coffee in the air; with the great seating and exceptional hospitality, there’s a latte to love. There is always cozy lighting and picture-perfect coffee mugs. For me, I love being curled up on a comfy couch with natural light coming through the windows, while I read a great book.

3. Latte Art (DUH)

Of course, latte art is important, but not all baristas can create great latte art. Once the perfect latte art is found, you are ready to enjoy. Drinking a latte with great latte art can be life-changing, there is nothing better than drinking your fav vanilla latte with a heart. Presentation is everything. With every beautifully artistic latte must come a delicious treat, whether it’s a macaroon, a muffin, or a bagel.

4. Free WiFi

In this day and age, free wifi is everything to a college student. Nothing is more annoying than not having wifi to turn in an important essay on time. Free wifi makes the coffee shop experience that much more enjoyable. Free wifi could also involve streaming your fav movie or song! Coffee shops are meant for having a great time, do enjoy yourself. Free wifi always helps, no more using all of your data.

5. Great Study Area

Along with the great atmosphere, being able to relax and get some homework done is the key to college success. Finding the perfect study nook is hard to do, but coffee shops make it so much easier for us. Coffee shops hold the perfect mixture of a bright, social atmosphere, but is also good for studying. Working in a cafe is a nice break from the normal study routines. Different scenery sometimes helps with work ethic too! I know I love a fresh new place to study and work. What's better than breaking old habits and starting new ones?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
