Midwest
Would you rather be rooting for a west coast team who plays in the California sun all day year-round, or cheer for a team from the humble and gritty Midwest where you live? If you are actually from the west coast, then fine. All I am saying is that Cleveland is not that far from Chicago, and we’re both cold and miserable half the year, so why not root for the Cavaliers? The Bulls cannot compete for a title this year and I'd rather see a Midwestern team take it than a fancy Golden State Warriors or dynasty of a team in the San Antonio Spurs win it all.
Kyle Korver
A long time Chicago Bull who is finally able to get his ring, and one of the greatest 3 point shooters of all time. Kyle jumped on the Cavalier wagon halfway through the season in hopes of being on a team that can win it all (Sorry, Atlanta)
Iman Shumpert
From the Chicago area (Oak Park) and a pretty good perimeter defender, Iman is notorious for his boisterous hairdo and poor fashion choices. The guy even has a tattoo of Chicago's Green-Line on his arm. Cleveland is full of scruffy players who can play some good defense at time.
LeBron James
The poster boy, John Cena-esque, face of the NBA is not going to be around forever, so why not enjoy him while he's young. Can you imagine a league without LeBron? I can't. Kobe is already gone, and soon Vince and Dirk. Then all you'll have left are those four superstars on the Golden State Warriors and then some. Plus, LeBron isn't a bad guy like the mustachioed supervillain we loved to hate in Miami. At 32, he's matured from the pompous teenager into a proud father and loving husband.
Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are a team that is going to dominate the league if they remain healthy and add pieces going forward. They have two recent MVPs in Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, and then two other stars in Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. This team's foundation is set in gold for the next five years. They have already proven to be a dynasty and do not look to slow down. I choose to root against the inevitable (next) championship brewing in California's Bay area.
Cavaliers
I have talked up the Golden State Warriors, but what about their rivals in the Cleveland Cavaliers? It is arguably LeBron's best formed team of all time - fully equipped with three point shooters, and not one, but two other All Star players who can get their own shot. Kyrie Irving, also known as 'The Ankletaker,' proved himself as an offensive juggernaut in last year's NBA Finals and his awe inspiring crossovers have remained a perennial threat since. It is also important to note that LeBron has shooters up and down his roster, probably more than ever before.
With the Cleveland and Golden State rivalry in full swing,The NBA has never been better. There is no better time to watch than now.
