Some people hate them, and some people love them. But I have to break it to you: after wondering what the fuss was about this new-found shoe trend among college students, at the beginning of summer, I went ahead and purchased my own pair of sandals that are near-identical to the Chaco design. I began wearing them to the point where I had them on every single day of the summer semester. I finally understood why these are so popular among college students who have to walk various distances to get from the parking lot to class, sometimes even across campus. Here's why everyone's loving what people call "fancy Jesus sandals."

1. They are super comfortable.

When people say that it's just like "walking on clouds," they're not kidding. You can wear them all day long without having aching feet. The first time I put on these shoes, I was truly shocked by how comfortable they are! Plus their soles have amazing support across your feet especially for those who cannot stand for too long.

2. They are stylish.

They come in so many colors and designs for both men and women alike. Their straps — in which you can choose between single, double and triple straps hugging your feet — come in red, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, black, all sorts of color combinations and even rainbow! You can even customize them to your fit your likes and needs!

3. They are versatile.

You can wear them with shorts, jeans and even all kinds of dresses from casual to prom (yes, prom). I have worn them to school, the gym, the store, the park, I have even walked up Stone Mountain with them! They are that comfortable.

4. They are a cross between flip-flops and sneakers.

They let your feet breathe without sacrificing comfort and support. They give you the freedom of not constricting your feet such as when you're wearing sneakers and socks, but they also contain the sole and durability of sneakers. On top of that, they give you a great excuse to paint your nails! Whenever you do take them off, everyone will see that you own a pair of Chacos due to their one-of-a-kind tan.

5. They are durable.

They may cost around $100, but they will truly last you a lifetime. You can also find similar designs online or in stores for as low as $40. I have worn them literally all day every day this summer, and they do not seem to wear out anytime soon, even with all of my busy summer activities! So many people call these shoes investments for their durability, comfort and style. Whether you buy the originals or high-quality cheaper versions, you won't regret making this purchase!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
