Have you ever felt the urge of wanting to study when you can, but then you keep telling yourself that you “will do it tomorrow” and constantly repeat the same thing until the next day is when your exam day has arrived? When you are studying, the one thing that gets in your obstacle is time. Fortunately for me, I do not have this issue, and therefore I am usually successful in achieving good grades. This article is meant to help those who have trouble finding the perfect time to study and tend to wait last minute, thus resulting in grades you don’t want. Here are five reasons as to why you should not study last minute:
1. Cramming for an exam leads to confusion, resulting in anger, anxiety, and a mental breakdown.
2. You can never really remember all the information you crammed into your head.
3. You are risking your grades.
4. Sometimes one sacrifices his or her sleeping time just to study for an exam. This can lead to the individual being tried on test day and not being as productive as he or she should be.
5. If you study earlier and study portions of your notes, then you have a higher chance of getting the grade that is rewarding. People generally learn best when they keep a consistent study schedule.
If last minute cramming is the ONLY solution you have, then, by all means, go for it. But if you do have any extra time, then you’re better off studying as early as possible the moment you find out when your exam is. If you're lucky, last minute cramming may result in a good grade, like this guy:
