5 Realities of Being a Dog-Cat Person

Why chose one, when you can have both? There are awesome things about dogs and cats that just don't ever seem to overlap leaving a hole in the heart of a dog-cat person if they were forced to just stick to one or the other. So here are 5 realities that hold true for all dog-cat lovers.

1. You need a pet that will cuddle you.

Let's face it; a cat just won't be willing to cuddle with you whenever you feel like it - you have to wait for them to be in the mood. Dogs, however, are always down to cuddle. This is especially nice when you are having a rough day or are feeling lonely/ lazy.

2. You also need a pet that will totally freak out over things like lasers, feathers, streamers, and any other fun cat toy.

Need entertainment? There is something about the way that cats totally spaz out over the simplest things that is too funny. If you enjoy this "spazzing out" you get it, if not, then you never will.

3. A good cat video can brighten the darkest of days

Sort of an extension of number 2. on this list. There just aren't as many great dog videos out there as there are for cats. You probably have a list of your top favorites and might even have some saved to your computer/phone. The only thing better than watching funny cat videos is making them. ;)

4. You can't walk a cat, but dogs...

Since we are making comparisons, Dogs are definitely the more adventurous of the two. You can take them hiking, running, or for just a nice short walk. Cats just don't do well on leashes or with the whole "walking with you" thing.

5. Playing dress up with them

Honestly, both cats and dogs are fantastic dress up buddies. There is nothing cuter than an animal wearing a tutu.

6. Sometimes you get lazy and that litter box is your best friend.

As a bonus, on the nights when it's cold out and you really don't want to leave your couch, cats go in a litter box and that is probably a gross thing to be grateful for, but I really don't care.

* All dogs (except the one in the tutu and the first one) are all up for adoption! You can click on the image and it will take you to their adoption page with more info.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
