Feeling overwhelmed? You are definitely not alone. It's easy for life to become one big jumbled mess of stress with everything that's required of us. Maintaining a good GPA, having a social life, getting enough sleep- along with the pressure from society to display what appears to be a perfect life- that's enough to stress anyone out. With that said, however, there's no need to be discouraged. Everyone deserves a reminder every once in a while that life goes on, life gets better, and that although life is tough, so are you. The following are popular sayings that can be used to get through trying times:

1. "Most people have attained their greatest success one step beyond their greatest failure." -Napoleon Hill

Don't give up until you've reached success! There will always be obstacles in life, but use them as stepping stones rather than hurdles.

2. "When life puts you in tough situations, don't say "Why me?", say "Try me!"

The struggles of life are no match for your endurance and tenacity. Look life right in the face and challenge it's authority to hold you back.

3. "To be tested is good. The challenged life may be the best therapist." -Gail Sheehy

Tests can be some of the best things in life because you can always grow from them. Looking back on how far you've come is one of the most rewarding feelings.

4. "An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great. So just focus and keep aiming."

This quote practically speaks for itself. People that have the greatest challenges in life often have the greatest plans for their life! You can get through this. You are strong. If you're brought to it, you'll be brought through it. And you'll be much better on the other side.

5. "A bad day doesn't mean a bad life."

It's just one second out of sixty, one hour out of twenty-four, one day out of three hundred and sixty-five. This too shall pass, and when it passes, don't look back. Tomorrow is a new day, and it could be the best day of your life.

The next time you're feeling overwhelmed, remember these sayings. It's okay to feel stressed. That's a part of life, and it's normal. We all just need to make it a goal to not let stress completely control our lives. Days go by, moments pass, and seasons change. Life can make you or break you. The choice is yours.

"When life kicks you, let it kick you forward." -Kay Yow

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
