5 Quotes For Navigating Life

50 Cent once said "life is full of twists and turns". Here are five quotes to help you navigate through it all.

1. Everyone has their own unique journey.

"Stop comparing where you’re at with where everyone else is. It doesn’t move you farther ahead, improve your situation, or help you find peace. It just feeds your shame, fuels your feelings of inadequacy, and ultimately, it keeps you stuck. The reality is that there is no one correct path in life. Everyone has their own unique journey." - Daniell Koepke

2. "Self care is not selfish."

It's not. It never will be. Taking time out of the day to care for yourself can be both lifesaving and life-changing. As days progress, with news headlines getting more and more horrific, it's easy for one's mental health to deteriorate. Taking in so much toxicity can dampen one's spirit and alter their emotions. Take time FOR you. Care for your thoughts. Care for your health. It isn't selfish. It's a necessity.

3. "Focus on you, your goals. "

Comparison can prove to be a huge roadblock when navigating through life. If you let it consume you may find yourself into a couple of accidents. Avoid this by focusing on yourself and your goals. Just watch how much easier the ride will get.

4. "Be a better you."

"Be a better you, for you." - Sonya Teclai

When feeling alone but passionate about a decision, follow your heart and just do. While family and friends are vitally important, ourselves are who we'll always have. Be a better you, for you. Don't let anyone dictate how you go about bettering yourself. A better you makes for smooth navigation.

Finally, here's a bit of motivation for your the rest of your journey. Stay positive, stay inspired. Life will throw you curve balls. Some may knock you off the path. Others may increase your travel time. Regardless, it's up to you to create the best navigational guide for yourself. You've got this

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.
