5 Quotes That Accurately Depict Being In College

In This Article:

College is such an interesting time. You are in class most likely for less hours per week than you were in high school. Yet, despite this, it seems you have more to do than ever before. All the time you thought you had seems to rapidly disappear. Here are five quotes from celebrities as well as TV characters that are quite accurate when it comes to college.

"The most useful thing I've learned in college so far is how to quiet my breathing so no one realizes how much I struggle walking up a flight of stairs" -Unknown

Seriously. There are stairs everywhere. You may decide to be "active" and opt for the stairs instead of the elevator. However, after several flights and coming from outside, especially in the heat of August, you may regret your decision.

"Nothing good happens after 2:00 am… when 2:00 am rolls around, just go home and go to sleep.— Ted Mosby, How I Met Your Mother

There are fun nights that do happen where nights turn into early morning, but when it is a school night like Ted Mosby said it is time to go home!

College inspired me to think differently. It’s like no other time in your life.– Larisa Oleynik

College is most people's first time in an environment that resembles the real world. Have fun, make memories, take the time to learn your true interests and more about them.

The future is scary but you can't just run back to the past because it's familiar.— Robin Scherbatsky, How I Met Your Mother

College is a time of new beginnings and adjustments. Everyone does not and will not adapt at the same pace. However, even if you are struggling to adapt know that you can and you will. College has the potential to change your life but only if you stick around to get yourself used to it.

"Do not be afraid to ask for help. Nobody gets through college on their own."– Michelle Obama

I am ending on a more serious note. College is so different than what you have experienced in life thus far. Make sure to have people that can help you through it. It does not matter if it is family, friends, or trained professionals, know who you can talk to in confidence and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock
