5 Quick Ways To Turn Your Closet Into Cash
New England Closets

Money is tight in college with tuition, groceries and having to buy new workout pants because you wore the last pair until there was a hole in them. Don't worry, there's money up for grabs sitting where you didn't even know it – in your closet. It's time to admit to yourself that if you haven't worn it in a year, you're not going to wear it today. Also, it's not healthy to keep clothes around that are too big or small. Keep clothes around that fit your current body! Regardless, it's time for a closet purge to pay for a new pair of workout pants you can wear every day – one without holes.

1. Poshmark

Poshmark is an app where you can list and sell your old clothes! The buyers have to pay for shipping themselves, so when you make a sale you just print out the shipping label and place the package is the pre-paid bin at the post office – simple! This can bring in some extra cash to buy yourself some new clothes that you will actually wear.

2. Plato's Closet

Plato's can be a great way to get those old clothes out of your closet ASAP and have cash in hand the same day. Although, Plato's does not always take all your items if some of them are too outdated. Regardless, you can make cash quickly by going to Plato's!

3. Free and For Sale Pages

Post your clothing haul on a selling page for $5 each item and watch the items fly away. $5 may seem cheap, but if you're selling a lot of clothing, this money will add up quite quickly. Somebody's trash is another's treasure – right?

4. Make Your Own Page

Make a Facebook event just for yourself and invite all your friends. Post all the clothing you have for sale and their price and size. This gives your friends a chance to finally own that piece of clothing they always borrowed from you anyway. If your friends have a similar style to yours, this is a great way to make some quick cash.

5. Mercari

Mercari is another app that you and buy and sell clothing through. Though, Mercari does not pay for shipping like Poshmark, so be sure to price your items accordingly so you don't spend all your earnings on shipping. Mercari also doesn't have as strict guidelines as to what you can sell, so you could sell other things like old room decorations and such too!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
