Recruitment is finally over along with all the small talk.
We all have a love/hate relationship with recruitment. We love seeing new faces and potential littles or grand-littles. We develop rush crushes. Plus it's a time where we get to brag about our sorority and greek life. First rounds, however, can start to become a drag. Our voices become hoarse from endless chanting. Our dances are permanently embedded into our brains, so we look like peppy robots. Last but not least the conversations start to become repetitive. We ask and answer the same questions for 12 rounds, and PNM's eventually catch on to the routine. Now that recruitment is over I'm happy I don't have to hear these questions until next year.
Question 1: What's your name? We obviously have to ask this question. You can't go an entire round talking to a girl and not know her name. Sometimes though her name slips from your brain, and you have to slyly take a glance at her name tag without it looking like you're staring at her chest.
Question 2: Where are you from? This is a hit or miss question. Either you know their hometown or you don't. When you don't it can be kind of awkward, and it's time to change the topic.
Question 3: What's your major? The most famous question of them all. Not only will you hear this question non-stop during recruitment, but you will be asked this your entire college career.
Question 4: Why did you choose Ball State? This is a stupid question. Why wouldn't you choose Ball State? Ball State is great. I actually feel bad for the people who didn't choose to attend BSU.
Question 5: Why did you decide to Go Greek? Most respond with it's a great way to make new friends and be more involved. Others were persuaded by their roommates or friends. Some come from a long line of greek life alumni. No matter the reason it will be one of the best decisions you have ever made.
