5 Questions All Lander Students Want Answered
Nihaowang

I frequently have had a few questions for Lander University. These questions aren't bad questions, but I just want to know why my university hasn't done these things or what other students are thinking.

1. Will the Construction at Lander Ever Stop?

I'm not saying it's a bad thing for our college to do construction jobs on campus, but most of the time it comes in the way of us going to class or anywhere on campus. The construction is a good thing for a growing campus, but sometimes I feel that the campus should start constructing things for the campus maybe a few months apart from each other.

2. Why is the Internet Bad in the Computer Lab?

I really need a answer to this one because I just don't get why our computers don't work in the computer lab. The computers in the lab were working perfectly the first few months I got here and the internet was very fast. Then all of a sudden, the computers in the lab stopped working as fast as they did the first few months.

3. Why Can't We Use Our "Bearcat Bucks" in the Bookstore?

I want to know the answer to this question because this concerns a lot of college students. If we could use our "Bearcat Bucks" in the bookstore, it would help us college students with saving money at school and we wouldn't have to struggle to find the money for books. This would help us show our school pride at events more than ever before because we could buy a lot more merchandise at the bookstore.

4. Why Isn't Our Mascot at Basketball Games and Other Sporting Events?

I think this question is a big one for our spirit at Lander University. I believe that if we had our mascot at the sporting events, then everybody would have more spirit than we have now. I believe this is a big part of Lander because without the Bearcat mascot at sporting events, it's not as enjoyable.

5. Why Doesn't the Wi-Fi Work?

This is a very big concern for all students at Lander. I mean, the WiFi does work, but it doesn't work as well as we need it to work. We believe that the Wi-Fi should be fast at loading pages or anything on the internet. But most of the time it freezes up and we don't feel like it's in the best condition.

The 5 questions I listed above need to be answered. We need to know why these things don't work or why we don't have these things. We believe that if these things were working, this campus could be even better than it already is.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
