Whether you like it or not, these are questions that you will not be able to avoid throughout your college career as an English undergrad.
1. Are you going to be a teacher?
It might come as a surprise to you, but there are in fact other things you can do with an English major aside from teaching.
With an English degree you can get involved with journalism, public relations, editing, and news reporting. (just to name a few)
*gasp*
2. Do you know what this word means?
I am an English major, not a dictionary.
3. Can you edit my paper for me?
I most likely will if you ask nicely, just don't expect me to do it every time.
4.How do you expect to make money with that major?
Watch me.
5. Do you write essays like all the time? I hate writing.
