It can get pretty boring during the winter season when you can't go outside in the warm weather and make your own fun, whether it's with a Frisbee, a picnic blanket, or a whiffle ball bat. It is nauseating, the thought of being cooped up in your room in Boston for at least three months, waiting for mother nature to lessen her cold iron grip on the city. Here are some popular things to do in the winter within the city of Boston; they might just save you from developing seasonal depression.

1. Improv Asylum

My friends have all raved about the comedy club in the North End called "Improv Asylum." With funny shows and times with various pricing throughout the week, it's sure to make a great date night, or even a fun night out with the girlfriends, when paired with a pasta dinner in one of the neighboring Italian restaurants. It even has a student discount.

2. The Boston Opera House

For a dressier night out, take a trip to the Boston Opera House, home of the Opera Company of Boston located in the theatre district in Boston.

3. Boston Bean town Trolley Sightseeing Tour

The trolley tour is narrated and rides throughout Boston stopping at 125 different points of interest including Fenway Park and the Aquarium. The tickets are valid for up to 24 hours and you can hop on and off at the various stops.

4. Boston Museums

Take a day trip to one of the many museums located throughout the city of Boston. Visit the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Science, the Boston Children's Museum, or any of the museums located at the many colleges in the city.

5. The Prudential Center

Spend the day shopping at the "Pru," and then make your way to the top floor for dinner, and check out the skywalk for the most amazing 360 degree view of the city that you can't find anywhere else.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
