In today's world of fast-paced news and the myriad of ways of accessing this news, it is hard to find which way to access it. Newspapers are practically obsolete and the news on TV is a minefield of misinformation and no one has time to sit in the morning and watch. Since most people have quite a long commute in the morning, many have turned to podcasts as both their primary form of information and a fun form of entertainment. Here are 5 podcasts you should work into your everyday lsitening routine.
1. Today, Explained By Vox
Vox is known for their podcasts and this is my personal favorite that they produce. Released near the end of everyday, this podcast uses guest speakers to explain the biggest piece of news everyday in short 20 minute podcasts that will make your commute home make you more knowledge about world events.

2. TED Talks
If there is anything you want to learn about, I mean literally anything, TED talk podcasts are great. They cover practically every topic in super short, 10-15 minute podcasts that are perfect for short work breaks or a walk around the block. They will leave you with a new perspective on life and make you want to get out and take the world on.

3. The Jenna Julien Podcast
Made and starring YouTubers Jenna Marbles and Julien Solomita, this Monday podcast is the perfect way to brighten your Monday. The two play games, discuss conspiracy theories, and even have special guests sometimes. These podcasts are a bit on the long side, average between 45 minutes up to an hour and 15 minutes, but worth every minute. If you're someone that favors videos to podcasts, the Jenna Julien Podcast is also uploaded as a video to Youtube at the same time they are released as podcasts.

4. Pod Save America
Probably the most famous political podcasts, Pod Save America is produced by four former Obama aides and a slew of journalists. These hour long episodes are released twice a week-- on Mondays and Thursdays. These podcasts cover mostly political topics with guests including politicians (most notable Barack Obama), journalists, and activists. There is also talk of a Pod Save America show coming late 2018 to cover the midterm elections.

5. Worldly by Vox
Like I said before, Vox makes a lot of podcasts, and they're all great. Worldly, released every Thursday, covers the one worldwide issue you need to know each week. Ranging between 15 and 30 minutes, these are great to listen to after work or school to make sure you know what you need to know for the week. Then, you don't have to know anything else all week! (Not really.)
