Take it from a Nashville local, there are some tourist locations that are just not worth it. You end up fighting the massive crowds, ultimately not getting enough bang for your buck, and wasting your time. These are five spots, coming from a Nashville local, that are most definitely worth your time and money and you must visit if ever coming to town.
12th Avenue South
To get the true tourist experience, visiting 12th south is a must. Just walking around this area, you get a true feel for what Nashville is all about: homey-feel, yet eclectic, yet very welcoming and inviting. Stop by Frothy Monkey to get an amazing cup of coffee or Las Paletas to get an amazingly unique treat. And while you’re there, don’t forget to stop by the “I believe in Nashville” mural to show your Tennesse pride.
Hattie B’s
This is a Nashville original and completely justified in being so in my opinion. They are best known, of course for their hot chicken, but more so than that, basically anything on the menu will be amazing. Stop by for a quick meal while adventuring through the city. Also, if you’re a big mac n cheese lover, you have to try their pimento mac n cheese. It will change your world.
The Bluebird
Stop by one night for a fantastic show. This historic venue features many up and coming singers and you never know, sometimes some of the biggest country stars even make a guest appearance.
The Ryman
Having been to countless shows at this historic venue, it never disappoints. There is so much history here, in being the Grand Ole Opry until the 70s, you can almost feel the magic in the air. Stop by just to admire the beauty of the building and try to catch a show if you can.
Predator’s Game
Nashville is proudly home to the NHL’s Predators. Possibly the most exciting game I have ever been to was a Nashville Predators game. Even if you’re not a big hockey fan, I promise you won’t regret it.
