5 Places To Take Your Special Someone On Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is coming up and I know what all of you guys are thinking, “Where should I take that special someone on the 14th?” Well don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here are five places to take your significant other on this valentine’s in Winston Salem.

North Pit

If you don’t have a car on campus and you’re nervous of those Uber surges (Hey you never know), stay on campus and hit up north dining. North or New pit is always a great option especially if you’re ballin’ on budget as you only need one swipe per person.

Bistro 34

If you’re really into staying on campus or you have a little extra homework, but you want a fancier option than the pits, look no further than Bistro 34, located inside of the north dining hall. Known for its Steak and Fries, Bistro 34 has quite the extensive and tasty menu that includes a nice alcohol selection if you’re 21. While it may set you back a few food dollars, Bistro is an awesome choice for that special someone.

The Fourth Street Filling Station

Nothing was a warmer welcome to Wake Forest for me than 4th Street Filling Station with my parents the night before move in day. There aren’t a lot places in Winston Salem that can beat their crab cakes or shrimp and grits. Only a small drive or uber off campus and with quality service and down home ambiance, I can guarantee a lovely evening for you and that special someone.

Village Tavern

Down in the pride and joy of Winston Salem also known as Reynolda Village sits Village Tavern, a Wake Forest classic. Whether you’re looking for a valentine's day brunch, lunch or dinner, the Village Tavern has got you covered. Reasonably priced with a classic American vibe, I would recommend their tavern burger for lunch or dinner while I would suggest their eggs benedict for brunch.

Mi Pueblo

Now some of you may question my credibility of having Mi Pueblo this high up on my list, let me explain. For those looking for that classic romantic dinner, Mi Pueblo may not be your move, but for those looking for a fun and entertaining night with their special someone, read a little bit longer. With great service for large parties, an authentic Mexican vibe and cuisine, and an awesome drink selection if you’re 21, Mi Pueblo checks all of the boxes. I would suggest the Carne Asada or Guaca chicken, but no matter what you order you’re in for a Valentine’s day to remember.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
