1. Fair Park

This is a great place to go on a nice spring day or when the weather isn't too terrible in the summer. This park hosts events year round so anytime you want to go I'm sure there is some type of event going on. It's also where the State Fair is held (which is a Texan must) and just a part of history itself! Seriously if you just want to spend the day outside in some fresh air come here there is so many things to do

2. Perot Museum of Nature and Science

This place is seriously so cool. This is a great place to take the kids on a day off and they absolutely love it. Not only are they learning, but they have fun as well with all the hands on activities. I still have fun going and I'm 18 (still a kid though lol). This was one of my favorite places to go as a kid, and a museum in Dallas that you definitely want to experience.

3. Bishop Arts District

This is by far one of my favorite places to visit in the area. It's an historical part of Dallas that makes a perfect area to get some cute pictures with art all around. You can simply take a stroll, grab a bite to eat, or there is lots of shopping. If you're looking for a sweet bite I highly recommend Emporium Pies (seriously the best) and if you're looking for a lunch or dinner spot you can't go wrong with Dallas Grilled Cheese Company or Eno's Pizza Tavern.

4. Sablon Chocolate Lounge

Okay this one is a total foodie, but completely to die for. The craziest desserts and these are the ones that will satisfy any sweet tooth or craving. Seriously so good and worth the drive.

5. Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

This is one of the most beautiful places in Texas! You could spend hours upon hours here and still not see it all. It is 66 acres of flowers and plants. Personally I would say it's best to go in the fall or spring since it's outside and definitely too hot in the summer while not a ton of alive plants in the winter. I went in the fall and absolutely loved it because it was decorated with pumpkins, and a bunch of fall colors. This is a must!!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
