All of these places are located in Baltimore city! If you try one of them out let me know!
1. Memsahib
Address: 400 W Lexington St, Baltimore, MD 21201
This is one of my favorite places ever. I could eat here every day. It’s authentic Indian food and the seating arrangement and decorations of the restaurant is really unique. The food here is delicious. My favorites have to be the chicken tiki marsala and their samosas with the sauce. It’s buffet style and it changes slightly every day. Like I said, I could eat here every day and if I had the money I totally would.
2. Brown Rice
Address: 520 Park Ave, Baltimore, MD 21202
So this is inside Mount Vernon Marketplace and the marketplace has a bunch of different eateries in it. My mom and I always say that when we go we’re going to try something different, but we always end up at Brown Rice with no regrets. I remember the first time my mom took me here and I didn’t want to go because I either always want to eat a Memsahib or Nalley Fresh. She described it to me as the Korean version of Nalley Fresh and I feel like that is a pretty accurate description. It’s BYO salad but Korean style. I can’t begin to name everything they offer just now that it’s really good. One of the cool things about this eatery at least to me is that they offer 8 different sauces to put on the salads (or bowls which would have rice as the base) and I use about 5 of them. Yum.
3. Maiwand Grill
Address: 324 W Baltimore St, Baltimore, MD 21201
Maiwand Grill is a restaurant that features authentic Afghan food. Although I haven’t explored the whole menu, I have had their lamb, and let me tell you, their lamb is the best lamb I’ve ever had. It’s seasoned perfectly and also a little bit spicy. I personally haven’t had anything off of their vegetarian options but I’ve heard that it’s pretty good. But for me, I’ll be sticking to the lamb.
4. Supano’s
Address: 110 Water St, Baltimore, MD 21202
So I actually found this place recently and by accident, but as you can see it made my list! To make a long story short, I went to an Orioles game with some friends and we got out really late and we wanted to go somewhere to eat and we were told a restaurant that’s open late is Supano’s and that is how it all started. It’s known for its’ steakhouse, seafood and pasta but I didn’t get any of those. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana which they cooked perfectly. I’ve been to other restaurants and I’ve ordered the eggplant parmigiana before and it was not good. All they did was put some sauce and cheese over single eggplants. No. that’s not how you do it. Supano’s did it right. They layered the eggplant and baked it all together. It was soooo tasty and cheesy and I would definitely get it again. Also, a friend order mozzarella sticks and I had one and that was really good. They actually hand bread it and they were so thick and just oozing out with cheese. I will absolutely be returning here in the future.
I just realized I forgot one of the best parts! They also do karaoke, I’m not sure if it’s only at night, but it’s happened and it was super fun!
5. Nalley Fresh
Address: 120 E Baltimore St, Baltimore, MD 21202
Nalley Fresh is located in more places than Baltimore city, they’re all around but to me, this particular one is the best. I have been to two other locations and to me it just didn’t taste the same as the one in the city on Baltimore St. does. The one in the inner harbor I felt like they skimped me on they just didn’t give me the amount the other one does. But to me Nalley Fresh, in general, is amazing. It’s a BYO salad place to the extreme. It's actually more than that because they also have wraps and other foods but I have only had the salads because it is my absolute favorite. There is not a topping or type of protein that they do not have.
