Ever been completely bored when your roommate is out of town? Me too! Here are some short stories I made up when looking at photos of animals.

There once was a sloth who was very unhappy with his look. People who saw his pictures on the Internet always thought he was a creepy rapist. So one day, he decided to get a new hair cut to look more like Justin Bieber circa 2011. After he got his new haircut, he updated all of his profile pictures on social media. Now people say he looks like Jim Carrey with the bowl cut he had in the movie Dumb and Dumber.

Once upon a time there was a pretty, pretty princess. She was incredibly spoiled by her parents. She got anything she wanted whenever she wanted and she even got makeup lessons from Ru Paul. One day she met a prince. She fell in love at first sight and did everything she could to get his attention. She piled on the makeup and added false eyelashes to see him. He was just sitting there on the floor, looking all sad, waiting for someone to come and consume him. So she did he was a very delicious. His name was Milk Bone

3.

"Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming." The soaked pooch squealed as he traversed the river. "I will be Dory. I will be Dory! I will be Dory!" He repeated the mantra several times while wagging his tail and sticking his tongue out in concentration. The dog just kept swimming, right out into the open sea. Never to be seen or heard from again.

2.

Just the other day a baby puppy said to her parents, "I want to be a seal!" She stuck out her tongue and made a weird squealing or keening sound while wrapping herself in a towel. "That would be wonderful Pookie," her parents replied, "just remember you would need to swim everywhere." And with that the puppy's dreams were dashed. She didn't like swimming all the time.

One dark and stormy night a tiny fluff ball appeared. His friends asked him, "What are you going to be for Halloween?" The fluff ball responded, " I want to be the Monopoly man!" and he donned a fake mustache and started waddling down the street to get some candy.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
