Marc Reboud, a famous photographer, once said, "Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second." Throughout my whole life, photographs have always been very important to me. I love being able to capture a moment in history that will never change. People change and grow apart, but I love that photographs capture the person that you remember or a friendship you once had. Photographs are more than just an image; they are a captured story that lives on forever.
As a photo lover, I am obviously obsessed with the uber popular photo app, Instagram. To many, Instagram is a great way to look at people's photos or to gain popularity by having lots of followers and likes. I like to think of Instagram as my own online scrapbook. To me, it is about more than just trying to get thousands of likes; I want to post photos that I cherish. I like to think of myself as a fairly creative person, so I am always on the lookout for new photos apps to try out. I've downloaded dozens over the years and have finally found my favorites. Here are five to check out:
1. Studio (free)
This app is incredible! It's perfect for anyone who loves to be creative with their photos. You can add text, categorized graphics, filters, crops, and more. If you aren't feeling very creative, you can reuse or "remix" any design that has been used by someone in the app. I highly recommend Studio as it is user-friendly and refined with no ads or watermarks. 2. Rookie Cam (free)
This app is great for bright photo edits and simple text. Unfortunately, the free version of the app doesn't give you access to all of the filters, but you can still achieve great photos with the free ones. I love the vibrance feature, which adds more saturation and life to your photos. Overall, a great app for those who love colorful photos. Here is a photo I have edited in Rookie Cam:
3. VSCO Cam (free)
This is definitely one of my all-time favorite apps. The filters that come pre-downloaded in the app are breathtaking, unique, and artsy. You can download even more free filters and buy some if you want. Personally, the free filters are so good that I would just stick with those! The app is extremely easy to use, as well. 4. Rhonna Designs ($1.99)
I was lucky enough to download this app for free when it was on special in the App Store. This app has many unique designs, scrapbook-inspired graphics, and frames to make your photos stand out. Unfortunately, many of the designs must be purchased as add-ons, but the free designs are great. Here is a photo I've edited in Rhonna Designs:5. Instamag (free)
This app is a new take on photo collages...and I love it! It's a bit more unique than just the average Pic Stitch and gives you very artsy, magazine-inspired collages. Here are two collages I have made in InstaMag:
All of these apps are available to download in the App Store and Google Play Store. Check them out, give them a try, and let your creativity go wild!
