5 People You Forgot To Thank

In our busy lives it's extremely easy to forget to say a simple "Thank You" to some very important people. "Thank You" is one of those sayings you should never get tired of using.

1. Your Parents

The people/person who taught you to say the two simple words that will stay in your vocabulary for the rest of your life, are the people who don't receive as much thanks as they should. Every once in a while, there's no harm in giving your parents a hug and telling them how thankful you are for all they have done for you, because they have made immense sacrifices for you to be where you are today. I guarantee those two words, that your parents introduced you to so long ago, will brighten their day in the best possible way.

2. God

This may not apply to everyone, but if you do belong to a religion, then whoever you worship/follow etc, it's also important to thank them however you need to. Whether its in prayer, song, or ritual its always freeing to take a moment and thank that higher being for blessing you with the life that you live. Personally, I believe that those 'thank yous' do not go unnoticed so say them as often as you can.

3. Your siblings

These are the people that you bicker with the most and even dislike most of the time, but at the end of the day, you know that they will always love you and you will always love them. Be the bigger person and throw them a thanks for that time they didn't throw you under the bus in front of your parents or when they also folded your laundry along with theirs, because they did not have to make any of those decisions to help you out.

4. Your best friend

There are so many reasons to thank your best friend. Thank them for dealing with your weirdness. Thank them for making you laugh and for being there when you needed them the most. A small thank you can go a long way in a friendship.

5. Yourself!

This may sound a little odd, but thank yourself! Whether you're in a really strong time in your life or you've hit rock bottom, thank yourself for all your successes, all your failures and everything in between. By thanking yourself and appreciating everything that you do, you are taking a huge leap to loving yourself and being the happiest you that you can be.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
