5 People That Should Be The Next President

Move aside, Trump and Clinton.

5 People That Should Be The Next President

As this year’s presidential race continues to heat up, many voters find themselves torn between the candidates or do not favor either one. No matter the outcome in November, America won’t be satisfied unless any of the following people are the next POTUS.

1. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Rather than one being the president and the other being a vice president, Tina and Amy should co-run our country. They are best friends, a true dream team, and have already proven themselves as politicians (Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, that is). Put this funny duo on the ballot.

2. Beyonce

Who run the world? Queen Bey. With a powerful presence and the stardom to affect social change, Beyonce could turn America into it’s best self. Not to mention the fact that we’d love to see her, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy totally owning the White House.

3. Jimmy Fallon

The "Tonight Show" host would be a great Commander-in-Chief. Just picture it: his State of the Union addresses would be filled with light-hearted jokes, presidential debates would be held in the form of lip sync battles, and it’s obvious that Justin Timberlake would be his running mate. Hail to this chief.

4. Ryan Gosling

Alright, so maybe this couldn’t happen since Gosling is Canadian. But should we amend the law which states you must have been born in the U.S. to run for President, Ryan Gosling would be our first pick for the job. With his incredibly good looks and swagger, he would gain plenty of followers that have fallen victim to his infectious charm.

5. Oprah

Because she's Oprah. Why not?

Dishonorable Mention: Kanye West

We all know Kanye West probably wouldn’t be the best man for the job. But since declaring that he plans to run for office in 2020, he lands on this list. Can America even imagine a world where Kim Kardashian is their First Lady?

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
