5 Things You'll Notice When You Stop Drinking

After a long day of work, I crave nothing more than a cosmopolitan and a hot bath. And while this is my go-to remedy for those exceptionally exhausting days, I’ve discovered that most days end better off without a drink.

1. You will be happier

Finding your Zen sober is a whole lot easier without a couple of drinks. Many of us drink because it relieves stress and makes us feel more relaxed at the end of the day. But, what we have to keep in mind is that drinking distorts our feelings. For myself, when I am drinking, I can turn 180 degrees from happy to very upset in a second.

Consistently being in a sober state of mind will reassure you that you are exactly where you are supposed to be in life. Your happiness will come from your decisions to skip instead of walk, or have ice cream for breakfast.

2. You will save money

Not drinking is also a great way to wake up not broke. Dinner without alcohol is like having a Groupon to every restaurant you go to. You will be shocked at how cheap your bill is and might even order dessert with all the extra cash and calories saved.

3. You will have more energy

Waking up with a raging hangover can persuade anyone to taking an oath to never drinking again. The sluggish and tired feeling can last an entire day – sometimes two. Opting for a soda and lime can be the best decision if you know that you have a lot of work to get done the next day. And as you continue this pattern, you will begin to notice that your body will have more energy for taking on additional tasks such as, going to the gym or taking on more projects at work.

4. Your skin will look so good

Alcohol is a diuretic. This means that alcohol makes you urinate more, which leads to dehydration. When your body is less hydrated, so is your skin. Drinking will also cause the blood vessels beneath your skin to dilate, causing redness to your complexion. Once your system is clear of alcohol, you will see a noticeable difference in your skin.

5. Sex is AMAZING sober

Alcohol and sex have always had a rocky relationship with one another. There are certainly more hookups when drinking is involved, however, those hook-ups aren’t always totally satisfying - Guys are frequently unable to ‘get it up.’ Ladies lose sensitivity.

Another factor that weighs into sex is that you are less likely to use protection. That’s because alcohol does a number on your judgment and decision-making skills. All in all, quitting drinking means more orgasms and less herpes.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
