For anyone that's been living under a rock, the GRAMMYs are the absolute biggest night in music. The world gets to watch (and completely fangirl) as tons of celebrities dress up in the coolest of outfits, perform their most famous songs, and pay tribute to the greatest legacies in the industry. Needless to say, it's pretty special to watch it all go down! Here are 5 of the most notable moments from this year's GRAMMY Awards, and why they mean much more than you may think.
1. Adele's do-over.
During her tribute to the late George Michael, Adele messed up and requested to start the song over again. Showing us that the pros slip up too, Adele totally owned her mistake and surely made George Michael (and all of us watching from home) incredibly proud.
2. Bruno Mars' paid tribute to Prince.
Dressed in a symbolic purple jacket, Bruno Mars took the stage to acknowledge the lasting legacy of Prince. The performance, which was amazing in itself, demonstrates the huge impact the late legend continues to have on the entire industry.
3. Rihanna was classic Rihanna.
As always, Rihanna used her coverage at the GRAMMYs to prove to the world the total boss she really is. Openly drinking out of a bedazzled flask, Facetiming and dancing along to every song, Rihanna shows us the importance of fully being ourselves, no matter who's watching.
4. Beyonce reminded us all why she's Queen.
I mean, did you really expect anything less? Queen B slayed yet again with her unreal performance and her entire presence at the GRAMMYs in general. As if we needed any more reasons to freak out about the future arrival of her twins!!!
5. Chance the Rapper's big wins.
Chance took home the awards for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance. The success of the unsigned rapper shows the world the power of being an individual and always staying true to yourself.
