I'm going to be sharing some of my most favorite videos to exist on the internet, and try to limit them to 5, which is really hard.
But this way you know you're getting the best of the best. I think most people would agree with me when I say the golden age of YouTube was during its earlier years. Here are the YouTube videos that stand the test of time, and make me laugh to this day.
‘THE FEAR AWAKENED / STORY’ – OlanRogers
Olan Rogers is an absolute comedic genius and if you know of him, you know that he's an amazing storyteller. This is one of my favorites: it's a simple story from his childhood, but told in a way to make you pee your pants. I recommend binge-watching all of his stories! (Ghost in the Stalls, Echoes through the Wall…)
Tenacious D – ‘Tribute’ (Music Video)
Jack Black used to have a band with Kyle Gass called 'Tenacious D'. I don't know much else about the band except this song and video. (If you've already seen it you KNOW it's worth another watch.) It was made in 2010 and to this day I know every word. It's hard to explain, but basically Jack Black fights off a demon through song. It's very weird and catchy. Check it out and reminisce in the nostalgia with me!
‘Whips’ - BalloonShop
BalloonShop is a channel you absolutely need to get on board with. I swear each video you watch of theirs gets funnier and funnier. They made skit videos from around 2007-2010 and Olan Rogers (from video #1) is part of the crew. It was extremely difficult for me to choose one to recommend, but I think 'Whips' is the right video to get you hooked. Watch it and then PLEASE watch, like… all of their videos. Some of my favorites are: 'Egg Nog', 'Jellybeans', 'I'm Enjoying A Treat, Derrick!', 'Brahan's Books', 'Hot Pepper'…. and literally all of them, so go watch
'Double Rainbow’ – Yosemitebear62
This video just makes me extremely happy. The excitement that this man has for a double rainbow is contagious. His tears remind me to appreciate the little things and the beautiful world around us! Plus, it's hilarious.
‘Numa Numa’ – Dork Daily
Y'all KNOW I had to include this. The most iconic video on the internet to this day, since it was uploaded in 2006. That's all I have to say.
