Sleep is something that is universally loved and adored. Some insomniacs beg for sleep while other bed head/couch potatoes are grateful for their ability to lay and close their eyes and dream. Heres 5 non medical benefits of sleep:
1. Dreaming. Dreaming is something that everyone adores. Now nightmares are a different story, but I have to say that since a young age I have been able to manipulate my dreams in order to make them as I wish. I am one of those people who believe dreaming relates to your real life. I don't know how, and no I don't have any scientific support to back me up, but I love dreaming and relating it back, it helps me learn more about myself.
2. Waking up and falling back to sleep. The best thing in the whole world is waking up and looking at your alarm clock and knowing you have four more hours of sleep left. I absolutely love that feeling. You smile and shove your face back into your pillow knowing, YES, I get a couple more amazing hours of sleep!
3. Being able to lay in bed and sleep all day. Now there are some of you who feel like you are wasting the day away, but I don't think that is true. You know how much dreaming you can get on if you sleep all day? It is absolutely the one benefit of being sick (besides missing school or work). Falling in and out of sleep is wonderful. It brings new dreams each and every time.
4. You aren't a grump. When I get a full night's worth of rest I can definitely say I am in a better mood. I have more patients and more motivation to be productive. I'm definitely nicer which puts everyone else in a good mood as well. Now what's better than that?
5. You need that beauty sleep. I don't care who you are or what you look like, but if you don't get good sleep, you can see it. You look more beautiful, more awake with a good night's sleep. I mean there are probably some people who love bags under your eyes, but out of the few I've met you don't have to use as much concealer under the eyes to cover those bags up if you have slept.
