Every year around this time, people make lists of things they want to accomplish in the new year. Sometimes though, they can be too unrealistic and never get checked off.
This list is short, so that not only makes it much easier, but the goals are also realistic and can be accomplished with the right mindset. Especially for college students with almost no discipline.
1. Get More InvolvedÂ
One thing that I've really struggled with since I college started is getting involved. Sometimes it's really easy to just fall into your own routine and forget what it's like to be apart of something, but there are so many different organizations in college it's hard not to find at least one club.
2. Make Your Spring 2020 Semester Grades The Best You've Had
Grades aren't the defining factor of college, and they certainly don't define you. Whether making the Deans List is your goal, or just getting off academic probation is, as long you are applying yourself and making the marks you're happy with then that's all that really matters.
3. Reserve One Day For Homework And Studying
It's really easy to fall behind in classes, but I find if I take one day out of the week to just sit down and look at each of my classes syllabus, I tend to stay more organized and keep my grades up. It also keeps you accountable to study if you already have one day dedicated to it.
4. Try To Eat Normally
One thing I am most certain of since starting college is that my diet went to absolute hell. The combination of one dining hall meal a day/ my parents not cooking for me anymore really put my body through a lot. While it might be typical to try and eat healthier for New Years, right now focusing on just eating three square meals a day is all we can try for.
Create A Budget For Yourself
When living on your own, you may find yourself having to pay for things you would have never considered before. Just going to the store for groceries for cleaning supplies can rack up a lot of cash. Creating a budget for yourself to stay on top of where your money goes can be really helpful, and save you a lot in the long run.
