The indie gaming industry managed to offer players a lot of cool new games in 2018. Players had the chance to explore new worlds, enjoy challenging puzzles and have plenty of fun shooting all sorts of stuff.
But as the old year is about to make its exit, we can only hope that 2019 will be just a good for this niche, if not better! We even took a peek and selected the top five games to be waiting for impatiently!
Spelunky 2
A game of adventure and wonder, Spelunky 2 is the second installment of the series. If in the first version, the main character had to explore caves, find and collect treasures, and fight the savage creatures of the underground in order to survive.
In Spelunky 2, the main character will be the daughter of the spelunker who is trying to step into her father's footsteps. Only she is doing so on the moon, where she'll meet weirder creatures and have more exciting adventures.
Axiom Soccer
If you ever played (or saw someone play) Rocket League, and you liked it, you'll most likely enjoy playing Axiom Soccer as well! The idea is quite similar, only in Axiom you get to drive a precision-engineered drone that shoots projectiles in order to move the ball in the right direction.
The graphics are amazing, and the physics is very realistic, considering the fact that you're actually playing soccer using a drone!
We love it and can't wait to play it because it combines the best of two worlds: first-person shooters and soccer strategy. It's also vivid, with an incredibly immersive sound! Furthermore, beginners get to practice their skills using AI generate opponents. As you get better, you have the chance to compete in multiplayer games that can happen over the network or locally.
Now if you can't wait to play soccer, we recommend trying soccer games you can play in your browser. You can choose between classic soccer, playing with cartoons, or even puppet soccer!
Blazing Chrome
This is a game to keep players on their toes as the action is constantly rolling towards you! As a run'n'gun, Blazing Chrome features a world where the machines took over the humankind. The situation is bad since there are only a few humans left, and your job is to try and save them from their metal overlords.
Your character and his pal (which can also be your pal) have to go through hundreds of robots who want to terminate them. They can only do so using their shooting skills and cool gun arsenal! What do you think: does it sound intriguing enough?
If yes, you can practice your skills with some browser games like stickman rope. Nice choice to practice your attention and basic gaming skills.
In the Valley of the Gods
If you enjoy learning about Egypt and uncovering ancient hidden mysteries, In the Valley of the Gods is the perfect choice! The game will take you through a journey in 1920 Egypt, where your character will discover all sorts of relics and document the entire adventure.
While it doesn't sound like much, the game is quite challenging for explorers who enjoy a good mystery!
Cracks
The creators behind Machinarium promise to bring a new point-and-click adventure in their unique eerie style. Cracks seems to be a bit more on the obscure side, with the main character exploring the underbelly of his building and getting to meet his weird neighbors. The puzzles promise to be just as challenging and the attention to details is just as astonishing!
Overall, Cracks may be even better than Machinarium, but we'll have to wait and see since the developer didn't announce a release date yet.
