As a college student, I often find myself with a fair amount of free time on my hands. Like most college kids, I love to fill that time with Netflix, that wonderful video streaming app that most, if not all, Americans have heard of. While Netflix does have a fair few movies, the app is largely known for its vast collection of TV shows. In my humble opinion, there are a good amount of Netflix shows that every college student should watch (and I mean in their entirety, not just a couple episodes here and there). I'm going to give my list of five shows on Netflix every college kid should watch. Let's get to the list.
1. Stranger Things
Stranger Things chronicles the story of a boy that goes missing due to some supernatural events and the adventure to bring him back. This show is easily the most "bingeable" show on Netflix. Stranger Things currently has one season of eight episodes. Each episode is an hour in length. You could literall finish this show in a day. If you haven't seen the show that's taking the nation by storm, fix that now.
2. Parks and Rec
Parks and Rec is one of the best comedies ever put to television. This show tells the story of a few colorful characters in the town of Pawnee, Indiana. Some of the characters include Leslie, a persistent, loving government official; Ben, a cynical, nerdy realist; Ron, a man's man who loves steak and hate people and Andy, a loveable dope. All seven seasons of this show are on Netflix for you to enjoy.
3. The Office
Much like Parks and Rec, The Office tells the story of a workplace filled with hilarious, loveable, weird characters. Jim is personally my favorite character because I feel like I relate to him most based upon his cynical personality. Besides the fantazstic characters, this show features some of the best bloopers you will ever see (which can be found on YouTube).
4. How I Met Your Mother
This sitcom tells the story of Ted Mosby, a young romanitc, and his quest to find his true love. The show is told in the format of Ted telling the story to his kids thus the show's title. The show also features some great quotes and running jokes that never seem to get old. How I Met Your Mother also has one of the most polarizing endings that you are either going to absolutely love or absolutely despise. Check out this show if you haven't already.
5. Friends
Think of Friends as a 90's version of How I Met Your Mother. This sitcom features some of the best one-liners in TV history, a great theme song, and a young Jennifer Aniston. Need I say more? All 10 seasons of Friends are on Netflix now. Again, check it out if you're one of the few that hasn't seen it.
