Whether you're knee deep in final exam stress, or already basking in the relief of summer vacation, these comedies are guaranteed not to disappoint. There's no guilt in watching any of these for a couple hours and there's no better time to check them out.
1. "Chelsea"
Comedian Chelsea Handler is back. On Wednesday, May 11, the former "Late Nigh"t star will host Netflix’s first ever tal -show. Episodes will be recorded in front of a live studio audience and then will stream online every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Although details on the show are limited, Handler has said she plans to expand on the pop-culture topics discussed on her old show as well as bring comedy to serious current events including election coverage.
2. "LOVE"
From the man that brought you the "40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Bridesmaids" comes a show about two 20-somethings -- nerdy-nice-guy Gus, and sarcastic-angsty Mickey -- as they navigate dating and adulthood. The show is quirky but shines a harsh light on modern dating and relationships. Plus, with only 10 episodes, you can watch it all in one sitting. If you do, don’t worry: season two is slated to return in early 2017.
3. "Orange Is The New Black"
With season four just around the corner (June 17), now is the time to visit (or re-visit) Litchfield Prison. The award-winning series follows the lives of inmates and guards in a minimum security women's prison. Details on season four have been kept under wraps. However, according to Taylor Schilling, Piper Chapman’s character development may bring her into a new state of rebellion and the season is said to be its darkest one, yet. "Orange is the New Black" is already signed on to have four more seasons in the future, so now is the time to catch up on the craze.
4. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"
Tina Fey and 30 Rock producer, Robert Carlock, have come together to create this witty series. With a theme song guaranteed to get stuck in your head (“Females are strong as hell”), Kimmy Schmidt is the perfect light-hearted pick-me-up when you’re coping with final exam stress. The second season was recently added and season three is already in the works.
5. "Master of None"
Yet another comedic genius has a Netflix series. Aziz Ansari creates and stars in this comedy about a 30-year-old aspiring actor in Hollywood. Not only is the show funny, but it touches on important issues in today’s society including racism and stereotypes. Each episode is only 30 minutes long and season two is slated to return 2017, as well.
